1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to every OriginDrive user, account, file, storage integration and sharing feature. It forms part of our Terms of Service. You are responsible for making sure the content you upload and the way you use OriginDrive comply with applicable laws and the rights of others.
2. Prohibited content
You must not upload, store, distribute, promote or knowingly enable the distribution of:
• Materials you lack the legal rights or necessary permissions to possess, host or share, including infringing copyrighted material.
• Content or data whose storage or distribution violates applicable law, including child sexual abuse material and other unlawful exploitation.
• Malware, ransomware, malicious scripts or files intended for unauthorized access, damage or disruption.
• Personal information obtained, processed or disclosed without the lawful authority required for the intended use.
• Material used to facilitate fraud, phishing, impersonation, harassment, or other unlawful conduct.
3. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
• Access, attempt to access or interfere with another user's account, storage or security controls without authorization.
• Use share links to deliver unsolicited bulk messages, phishing, malicious downloads or deceptive promotions.
• Circumvent plan limits, upload restrictions, rate limits, access controls or anti-abuse systems.
• Overload or disrupt the Service through excessive automation, denial-of-service activity or attempts to exploit vulnerabilities.
• Misrepresent identity or impersonate OriginDrive staff, another customer or another organization.
• Sell, sublicense or redistribute an account or Service access where your plan does not allow it.
4. Sharing responsibility
You are responsible for choosing the recipients and visibility of files you share. Do not assume that a public link provides recipient verification, encryption beyond the normal delivery path, or confidentiality after a recipient downloads content. If you administer a team or external storage integration, ensure it is authorized and appropriately secured.
5. Investigations and enforcement
We may investigate credible reports or technical signals of abuse, and where reasonably necessary we may restrict public links, quarantine dangerous materials, limit features, remove content, or suspend or terminate access. We may preserve and disclose data where legally required or where permitted to address serious threats and protect rights. Where practical and lawful, we will provide a reason or an appeal route for significant account actions.
We do not guarantee that all content is routinely inspected or that all malicious files will be detected; a decision to scan or moderate content is a safeguard, not an assumption of full responsibility for user uploads.
6. Reporting and intellectual property concerns
To report suspected unlawful files, rights violations, compromised links or abusive accounts, follow the steps on our Content & Copyright Reporting page or email [email protected]. Please include the relevant link or account identifier, a concise explanation and a way to reach you. Do not email prohibited files to us. Rights holders should specify the protected work and provide evidence of authority to act. Where a report relates to a public sharing link, provide the complete URL and reasons the material is claimed to be illegal or infringing. We may request additional information, notify the affected user where lawful, review responses or appeals, and take proportionate action. We do not promise automatic removal solely because a complaint was submitted.
7. Policy revisions
We may revise this AUP to respond to new risks, laws and Service features. The current version will be available through the Service. Contact: [email protected].
